+308 You shudder to think of what your life would be without Harry Potter, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would be a very hallow pit of nothingness. :(

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Me too...it would be tragic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would have nothing to write about. Sorry, I have had fanfiction on my brain after seeing your username.

I wouldn't be as big a bookworm, that's for sure! :) I was thinking about it just yesterday and realized HALF OF MY LIFE has involved Harry Potter. I started them when I was 11. 11! It's just weird to think who I'd be without them.

I started the books when I was 7. I'm 18 now, and I can't imagine how different I'd be without them.

Replace "Harry Potter" with "Twilight" and think about how Harry Potter fans have been bashing Twilight fans for this exact reason. I am not saying "you are pathetic for agreeing with this" or anything like that. Some people are just hypocrites.

I read Harry Potter and enjoyed it, but posts like these are a little sad.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My life would be boring. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Hogwarts and Voldy are always waiting for me at my beside table so i can join them on their legendary adventures every night before i go to sleep.

Your life revolves around a fictional character. Well,okay...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sure, I liked Harry Potter, put posts like these are just pathetic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

...Nothing would change because it's just a fucking book. -_-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

thannnkk youuuu! jesus fucking Christ you people are retarded.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too. Freaking. Many. Harry. Potter. Posts. I love HP, don't get me wrong, but these need to stop because it's making the readers of the series look like obsessive Twilight fans (which I assume is exactly what people would want to avoid).

but certain pieces of literature have a huge affect on society think about romeo and juliet it is one of the most talked about pieces of literature there is think about if it wasnt there things would b very different tat is wat the poster of this post is trying to get at

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I literally shuddered reading this post. Harry Potter is such my life! I write fanfiction every day and read it just as much.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I really don't think this sounds as bad as some obsessive Twilight fan. This has a half serious but half joking sort of tone to it, at least to me, while for most Twilight fans their obsession is quite scary; I mean, a girl got vampire teeth put in just because of Twilight, people have put cardboard cutouts of Edward in their room, etc. So this really isn't that hypocritical at all, it really just means 'wow, my life would be hella different' rather than 'OMG I can't freaking live without this series.' (Not to mention that Harry Potter is much more legit literature than Twilight is.)

I agree with you. I one read on mylifeistwilight that a girl made out with her Siberian Husky because it reminded her of Taylor Launter >__> *shudders*

I would have missed out on meeting some of my best friends, that's for sure. And when I was little, my whole family would talk about it. Harry Potter brings people together!

Harry Potter isn't just any book series. I've been a fan since I was six and it has had a huge impact on me. The books deal with so many concepts- good vs. evil, friendship, love, loyalty, facing your fears, and growing up (just to name a few). I grew up reading thanks to HP. The books are really well written, with intricate storylines and dynamic characters that became like friends to me. I became emotionally invested in what happened! People from all over the world have come together by reading and discussing the books we love. We've become better readers and better people (seriously). Nobody would bother with fanfiction, fan art, wizard rock, a theme park, and parodies unless Harry Potter had some kind of impact on them. I've personally made many friends through a mutual love of HP! Those are some of the main points I was thinking of when I wrote this post. :)
