Everybody always pronounces my last name wrong. Either that, or they spell it wrong. So I have to say it weirdly or else they'll spell it wrong. But they always put some random L in there, too. Annoying as hell.

I am so curious about your last name now...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

usually no one says my last name wrong, but they always spell it wrong.

Italian and Chinese names, ugh. Italian first names, not so much, but I have to hear a Chinese name or Italian last name out loud before I know how to say it.

My last name is pronounced exactly as its spelled. Yet somehow people always seem to add 2 or 3 extra letters that aren't even in it and a couple extra sylables too. Sometimes when I'm at a doctor or something I just wanna tell the nurse, "sound it out..." Lol

That 'the fuck' was extremely unneccessary and didn't enhance the post at all. Just saying.

my friend is from South Africa and has the longest last name I have ever seen haha it she has five initials because her last name has three. It took me forever to figure out how to spell it and say it but I'm one of the few people who can actually say it

I once called the pizza place and they asked me how to spell my last name... Smith. 10 points for intelligence.

Especially if someone's like Josh Homme and they change the pronunciation of their surname depending on what country they're in.
