+198 You would rather lose your leg than your arm, amirite?

Prosthetic legs are much easier to master and cover up. If you had a prosthetic arm, you would have to learn all your fine motor skills (write, type, use scissors, anything really) with that hand over again. It would be REALLY hard to deal with.

Try running with a prosthetic leg.

that's the great thing! you can get away with not running or doing any physical activities if you wanted to!

Not to mention, even with a prosthetic arm it'd be hard to use a can opener or chop a tomato or even open a bottle of pills. Origami, out. Certain video games, out. Tying your freaking shoe laces, most likely out. But the only thing you use a leg for is walking. There'd be a lot less you couldn't do, and they have prosthetic legs that actually make you a better runner, although they're expensive.

no more oragami?! oh the humanity!

Nah, I'd lose an arm. There's a one-armed guy in my band, so I think I could just switch to mellophone and I'd be good to march :)

Hey, then you'd have an excuse to use the automatic carts at walmart!

If I'm getting a prosthetic replacement, yes. If I am just gonna have a stub, I'd rather lose the arm.

I'd rather lose my left arm than a leg, but a leg than my right arm.
