Usually people get a restraining order after they find out i hiding in their closet earlier.... i guess thats just me though...

That's the same as someone saying "I love you to death" or "Until death do us part" yet no one freaks out about those. Depends on the situation though. If it's in a romantic way, not a problem. If it's a moron who won't leave you alone, then a restraining order does sound like a good idea.
