+629 Your brain can't make faces, so that means when you dream, you're actually seeing somebody whom you've walked by on the street, sat near at the cafe, or even just casually glanced at. It's extremely creepy to know that somebody else in the world has dreamt about you, amirite?

That is actually, really, well creepy.

I think somebody saw Inception...... *shifty eyes*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

actually, I don't remember any part of Inception saying the people there aren't created by the brain... It just says they're projections of the subconscious.

Hm... Well I remember getting that sort of idea when Cobb was explaining the dream things to Ariadne. I might have been in passing or something or I might have just thought that. I don't know. But still, I like the post. Very interesting.

Even MORE awkward if it were to be a wet dream

Well i've dreamt about some pretty demonic faces... and i seriously doubt i saw those faces at walmart or something.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Pretty much everyone at Wal-Mart is demonic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You may have seen a mask or a painting that looked like that, or maybe your brain took different parts of faces you've seen to make a really fucked up face out of that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Just the fact that you describe them as demonic shows you know they look like a demons face, which youve probably seen on tv or something

Yes I'll agree that a human imagination can't create an image that it hasn't already seen before (No more than you can imagine a colour you've never seen before). BUT, that doesn't mean all faces you've seen in a dream are other people's faces. They're more likely a composition of a few faces you've seen before. So the likelihood that any stranger is dreaming of your face is actually quite small.

How is it creepy that someone has dreamt of you?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm a bit creeped out but just as equally amazed that our brains are able to remember that many faces.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i guess this explains why none of the people in my dreams have faces...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When you dream a new persons face your brain is really just combining the familiar faces that you already know.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i don't remember faces in my dreams unless they're about specific people i know and see a lot. if they're just random people on the street in a dream they don't have faces
