+744 How the hell are they going to shoot the new Harry Potter movie when they skipped all of the important details in the 6th movie, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

because real fans understand whats going to happen

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Your+name+(optional)): LOL. You again. But yes, the last movie is in two parts, thus about five hours of footage instead of two. much more detail.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yes but the burrow didn't burn down in the book and they need it in the 7th for the wedding that wasn't mentioned in the 6th movie

by Anonymous 13 years ago

don't understand why they put that scene in :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And it's also a safe house whenever Harry's there (admittedly, not as much in the 6th as in the 7th but still) so apparently safe houses can have fiendfyre attack them and burn them to the ground. And, finallygreeneyes, I will be so pissed if they use that excuse haha. Then they'll run into a plot hole when George's ear gets cursed off! They basically say that you can't repair something that's been cursed like that, right?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that scene was the dumbest thing ever. seriously wtf nothing even CLOSE to it happens and it's not like it advances the plot or explains something either, it just makes everything more confusing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They missed a crudload of stuff in HP6. Gaunt's memory was SO SUPER FREAKING IMPORTANT, but alas, it wasn't there :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I KNOW! and the memory of that lady who I can never spell's name with the Hufflepuff's Cup.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

And Riddle asking for a job at Hogwarts

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I swear the writers only read the books as they write the screenplay for that movie

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What is all the stuff they skipped in the movie?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(Anonymous):this isnt everything but they missed alot with the prophecy and alot with snape and his relationship with harrys mom, and they missed alot of memorys about voldy and they just skipped ALOT of scenes.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If we were to tell you everything they missed in the movie, you would have to clear your schedule for the next few days. They missed alot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The 6th movie.. and the 5th..and the 4th.. just pissed me off. They missed some huge details, and the stupid Burrow getting burnt down WTF. I want to slap David Yates. He just screwed up everything for us. They should let a real fan direct it and not some stupid director who's just in it for money.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Funny how the first two movies were criticized for being too close to the books, right? A lot of people are going to be sitting in the movies going "WTF? When did this happen?" while the rest of us are going to sit back and enjoy our Harry Potter.

Well they completely skipped anything with the Dursleys in the 6th, but there is supposed to be a pretty heartwarming scene with Dudley at the beginning of 7. There were supposed to be several more memories than they showed in the film: Voldemort's grandpa, uncle aunt and father. When Harry was on the train, Tonks was supposed to find him instead of Luna. This was one of the few scenes about Tonks and Remus' relationship that got tacked on in the middle. Ginny hid the potion book, which is hard to understand because how the hell is harry supposed to find the lost diadem???? There was supposed to be a battle at the end, which was lost along with Bill being attacked by Greyback. At the end of the movie, Dumbledore's wand is in his office. That's just a general taste. There is a lot more.

The reason they burnt down the Burrow is because in the 6th book, it talked a lot about the attacks on muggle-borns and blood traitors (I think). And the writers/directors thought it would make the audience sympathize more with what was happening if it happened to the Weasleys. Yep...

Here are some things I don't really get: I. The second movie, Harry and Ron have to change their voices to match Crabbe and Goyle when they take the polyjuice, but in the last book it's noted that hermione has bellatrix's voice after she takes the polyjuice. Also, in the sixth movie snape heals malfoy when Harry uses sectum sempra, but snape uses the same spell when he cuts off fred's (or was it george's?) ear, and they say it can't be healed because it was dark magic. Will someone explain, or are these just inconsistencies?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe with sectum sempra there's a difference with getting cuts and the complete removal of body parts?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That's how I interpreted it. I thought it'd be the same with any curse- you can fix damage to an object, but you can't fix complete destruction of the entire thing or a part of said object.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My opinion with the Sectum Sempra spell was that only Snape knew how to heal it because he had made the spell up. Of course no one else would have known how to cure it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hermione just imitates her voice

by Anonymous 13 years ago

the reason they couldnt fix his ear is because snape invented the spell and is therefor the only wizard who knows the counter curse

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That makes sense, but it seems like they would say "we can't heal it because we don't know the countercurse" instead of "we can't heal wounds made with dark magic" you know?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@424160 (belletheshark): They probably weren't aware that a countercurse existed, ergo they just assumed it was dark magic.

I feel sorry for/am a little envious of the people who only watch the movies. They miss out on A LOT of important things (backstories, sidestories, etc.), but they also get to enjoy the movies the first time around.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They also missed out on some funny stuff, like in the fourth when Fred and George give Dudley a Ton-Tongue Toffee

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ahah yeah true but i think becasue they dont know they just say that so it sounds cooler than " im sorry but we do not know the counter curse to the spell that hit your ear" lol :p but to all your other things you said (especially the polyjuice potion) it makes no sense whatsoever

by Anonymous 13 years ago

sorry for the triple post

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People haven't read the books are going to be confused when Bill and Fleur get married

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and Remus and Tonks falling in love

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and Sirius never gave Harry the mirror so how is Aberforth going to send Dobby to save them?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They took out a lot of the important plot points, and replaced it with love interest crap. But the love interests that actually are significant to the plot, they took out. W.T.F?
