+543 You've wondered how they cast people in movies/shows that are supposed to be fat/ugly. Do they put up signs saying "Fat actors wanted, be ready to be made fun of.", amirite?

They just cast whoever they think looks good in a fat suit xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah but like for example, Gibby in iCarly. They make subtle hints of making fun of his size, and he doesn't wear a fat suit xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

True. I think they get fat actors if they have to take their shirt off, but if they don't, they usually just use a fat suit. Some of those fat suits are REALLY realistic though, like Adam Sandler's in Click.

Yeah, or Steve Carrell in Get Smart.

Except they just made his head fat, then edited it on the body of a fat actor.

THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN WONDERING ALL MY LIFE ! Like Woody from Suite Life On Deck.

I've always thought that, like Gwyenth Paltrow's double in Shallow Hal.. must be a tad disheartening for the actor/actress.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It was actually Gwyenith in a fat suit.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Touche. Still you get my point

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. They have casting calls. And yeah, they say they're looking for someone fat....ugly....whatever. When you're serious about acting you obviously know your body type and aren't going to pretend you're super in shape and hott.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I ALWAYS PONDER THIS.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

ono You know, there are an awful lot of average-to-ugly stars, and the funny thing is they tend to have longer careers because they actually have TALENT instead of being empty-headed eye candy. Steve Buscemi comes to mind first xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

....I always thought Steve Buscemi was pretty handsome.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

he's actually not bad looking in boardwalk empire, but he's also not the hottest thing

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Exactley

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm, *ugly* people on TV and in film? Can you give an example?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

... Like Badkitteh said, Steve Buschemi.

@849489 (Wobbuffet): Also, Will Ferrell, David Spade, John Goodman, Chris Farley, Billy Crystal, Jack Black, basically most comedic actors.

See these people are all really cute to me, now I feel like an outcast.

this was already posted. you took it from someone and changed the words. repost.

Well, attractiveness is always a matter of opinion, of course. I find Jeff Goldblum very attractive, and most people are like "wtf"... but in terms of the conventional measure of attractiveness, those people aren't it.

"Tired of being picked on your entire life for your weight and/or looks? Well now you can audition to do so AND get paid for it!"
