Maybe they have never performed, but they listen to music, and that's what they're talking about when they say they love it. "Listening" and "playing" are both things people can mean when they say they love music.

Music is a lot like sex in numerous ways... It moves you to action, influences you emotionally, and it can even make you so excited that you have a (ear and mind) orgasm. And then we havnt even started on how much a musical instrument can be like a human in a really sensual way.

I agree, showers make perfect audience to most people, although a lot of em might suck at it and decide that it that its better for society and the welfare of their being that they dont sing in public, or play music for that matter, just because you dont know or see something that doesn't mean that it's not there or that it's not true
