"killed the comic relief"? WTF, George! Everyone always forgets about George.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He's nothing without me.

Not really, unless you mean the purpose was to save Harry, but he could have apparated without JK deciding Bellatrix was going to throw a knife at him and he still would have saved Harry. The only deaths I thought were important were Dumbledore's because it was planned by him and Snape because he was dying anyway and Snape took the vow for Malfoy and to make Voldemort believe Snape was on his side even more, Snape's because that's how Harry got the memory and knew Snape was a good guy all along, and kind of Hedwigs because that's how they knew he was the real Harry, but she could have given him away without dying.

Lupin and Tonks shouldn't have died!!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

At one point, JK Rowling was considering killing off Ron.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I thought he would day from the second he was introduced in the first book.

I think it was a good choice to have Umbridge live. I think we can all agree that she was a horrible human being... and yet she didn't get hers. It's frustrating, but it happens in real life. Besides, she was jailed after the series. It's not like she really got away with it.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

But instead she was fucked by centaurs. Whatever man.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol. Cracked?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yeah, but it could be true.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I feel you it makes sense

I think every death had a part in the story. It would have been pretty stupid if not very many people died, or only minor characters. It's a book about war, people have to die and it has to be sad.

Umbridge should have never been born, amirite? Yes. Yes I am.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

If Umbridge had never been born, then when Mundungus had sold Regulus amulet it would have gone to any random person, and there we be almost no chance of Harry ever finding it. Therefore there would still be one Horcrux left, and he probably wouldn't have prevailed over Voldemort. Holy shit, I need a life.

Personally, i think she deserved exacy what she got. Now, we all know that Hermione's role in the series is to know everything about everything, right? Therefore it's highly probable that she knew even a vague history of the centaur. Anyone who has glanced at a mythology textbook knows that centaurs have a //long// history of being ruthless rape machines. That's why they're built with a man's head on a horse's body: a man's mind with animal-like urges. At the climax of the book/film, Umbridge is dragged away on their backs, but we don't see what happens next. But considering the above, we don't need to. Nor does Hermione. She knew exactly what would happen; watching Umbridge get carried away by angry centaurs would be the same as watching Malfoy get hauled into the back of a van by a guy with a wispy moustache. And Hermione made it happen. What's the lesson here? Don't fuck with brainy chicks.

this is why in the movie, during this portion of the scene, Hermione looks a bit upset, even though it could be proved that Umbridge, in some way deserved it. As colette said, Hermione knew she caused it, and because her character was not portrayed as heartless (obviously), so she was even in the slightest, upset, or disturbed by the truth of what was to come. RAAAAAPPPEEE!!
