+238 If someone kills someone else, via drunk driving, fleeing from the police for drug charges, isn't it perfectly fine to wish the killer to rot in hell? who cares if his family lost someone? its him thats rotting, not the family. amirite?

Guys, there's more than one side to every story. My friend's father passed and so her mom became an alcoholic. She got into an accident because of her overdose in alcohol and got somebody in the hospital. The point I'm trying to make here is if my friend's mom were to go to jail my friend would have a life more horrible than what she's already been through. And to tell you the truth, this could happen to anybody.

that's not very pious.

i don't think the OP said it was. if you kill someone, you deserve to be punished. She's not wishing death upon them or anything...

I think it's really ignorant to think this way, if someone dies at your hand yet its an accident you shouldn't be condemned. Yes drunk driving is wrong but no one gets drunk and then drives with the intention to kill someone, they get drunk and clear thinking goes out the window. Not to mention even if it is them rotting, it's still your son or daughter, or mother or father, or brother or sister, or friend.

(...): So, if you lost someone you loved SO dearly because someone broke the law, you wouldn't want that moron in jail? S/he should have been more responsible. Get a DD BEFORE they drink, and perhaps the bartender should have kept an eye on them. If I lost any member of my family to drunk driving, I would want to have them get MAXIMUM sentence.

This. I don't care if the person did it unintentionally. You still killed a completely innocent person. I have been through horrible things (NO, not high school drama type things), but I have never done anything like drinking or drugs, or stealing, because I know other people shouldn't potentially suffer, because of my stupid choices. In the end, if you make a mistake, there's still a price.

Drunk driving killings are never accidents. Driving drunk is attempted murder every time you do it. Don't be a selfish piece of shit; just don't put the key in the fucking ignition when you're drinking. NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK, YOU CANNOT DRIVE "JUST FINE" DRUNK. No one can. Better you should walk and get picked up for public intoxication, than you should become a several-ton death machine.
