+292 Why do they not usually teach 2nd person literature in schools? It isn't any less important than 1st or 3rd, amirite?

They do teach it, just not until later in school because it's more complex to understand.

It's only useful if you're a hypnotist. You are getting sleepy, etc.

Or if you write porn. "You rip off my clothes," etc. Did I say too much?

It's not less important, it's just way less common.

How many True second person books do you see? Not as many as 3rd or 1st, not really less important more along the lines of less common. We used to study it in 6/7th grade, but then they said 2nd person isnt really a reading style, but they still "kept it" but yeah, like previous commenters, hypnostits use second person.

They do teach about 2nd person. It's discussed usually when learning about writing essays. Like, "don't use 2nd person (you, your, etc) when writing a formal essay.

If you know how to write in 1st person and 3rd person you should be able to figure out 2nd person on your own.
