more like northern kids. i don't know a single kid in the south who hasn't gotten their ass beaten, white or black. i lived there for quite awhile now i'm in the north though and i know this high and mighty person who acted like it was the most evil thing ever. SHE'S NEVER EVEN GOTTEN GROUNDED. she gets time outs but she likes them because people leave her alone. she judged my ENTIRE family and used the words "evil, horrible, child abuse," and more.

Yess, it's northern kids. Not white kids in general. My friend who moved down here [Texas] from Illinois looked at everybody in horror when my friends nd I were swapping stories of pain from our parents. All she ever got was crap taken away from her. I'd get; -The switch. [Fresh new skinny limb from a tree.] -The hand. -And the belt. [But it was thick so it didn't hurt that bad.]

Not all northern kids that don't get hit are brats! I've lived up north here my whole life, never been spanked/hit/things taken away or even grounded. Time outs maybe, when I was about 2. I just never did anything that worthy of getting punished that hard. My parents just don't believe in hitting their kids. And I definitely wouldn't consider me or any of my friends who don't get hit or spanked brats. Just normal teens.

umm..when they're like 3 times your size and much faster than you, you kinda don't have a choice, smart one. My mom stopped hitting me with the wooden spoon after I became too fast to run away, or when i started evading her blows, lol. she just gave up, and we grew up. but she still occasionally throws a shoe or slipper at us if we did something really stupid. anyways the point is little kids can't defend themselves against parents much larger in size. it's common sense.
