+356 You need to really commit if you're going to install an update on your computer...it's not a breezy "just-a-click" thing, amirite?

Not to be an Apple fanboy..... but on macs it is a 1-click thing lol

I'm the opposite of an Apple fanboy and even I must admit, that's really nice. Nothing more annoying than your computer shutting down randomly when you're doing something.

OMFG so tru! i hate working on some kinda assignment on a PC cuz i kno that it'll shut itself down randomly if it has an update scheduled or some shizz like that.

I like Macs and all, but it's still a one click process on Windows as well. It's just that it has to reboot and everything, but it's not hard. :S Just do it before you shut the computer off for the night. Then again, I sometimes feel like the only person who still shuts down his computer.

yeah but i find closing evrything and rebooting too much of a pain, i usually never reboot. I just close my laptop and it goes to sleep.

Yeah, which is what my last two sentences were for, lol. Most people just put them to sleep these days, even with power hungry desktops. I tend to turn mine off, so that method of updating doesn't bother me much. I've got a Mac but I don't have admin privileges on it, so I have no idea what the update process is like (although I'm guessing it looks the same as the Windows version of Apple Software Updater). What I don't understand is how the system files can be updated without rebooting.

I have a mac too though...just a normal macbook...and to me the process of installing updates isn't a one click thing haha
