Piglet definitely has to be a pig. He may not have a tail (or at least I never noticed one), but he is a pig. Why else would he be named Piglet?
by Anonymous13 years ago
not saying that he is aak armadillo (I think he's a pig personally) but a baby armadillo is called a piglet

Lets look at the evidence...
1. Remember that the Winnie-the-Pooh books were written in the early 1920's in England. The characters were based upon either stuffed animals that were given to Christopher Robin Milne (Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, Kanga, Roo, Tigger), or animals seen in the nearby woods (Owl and Rabbit).
2. The character's names were based upon the animal itself or variations on the animal. Most are self-apparent. "Eeyore" is the sound a donkey makes, and "Winnie" was the name of a bear seen in the London Zoo.
3. Christopher Robin Milne did not own a stuffed armadillo or hedgehog.
4. Armadillos are not indigenous to England. (You won't find them wondering around in the woods). I believe their range is from Argentina as far north as Texas and Louisiana. True, hedgehogs --- while indigenous to Africa and Eurasia --- can also be found in England and were indeed seen in the Woods.
5. Armadillos have hard shells (you might call it armor) which cover their body. Hedgehogs have spi

have spines which cover their back and sides. Piglet has neither.
Piglet is a young Pig.
by Anonymous13 years ago

by Anonymous13 years ago
o_O Oh my,...
by Anonymous13 years ago
He is so a pig, he's got a snout and pig ears and im pretty sure he had a twisted pig tail.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Piglet IS a pig. The original drawings of Piglet were different but he ended up without a tail.
by Anonymous13 years ago
THEN WHAT THE FUCK IS HE?!?
No. I refuse to believe this statement. He's a PIGLET.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Piglets not a pig... what the fuck?!?!?!
by Anonymous13 years ago
wait is that because he's supposed to be a stuffed animal?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Honestly, I was always wondering why Piglet had those random stripes, and that now makes sense. BUT STILL!!! HONESTLY?!
