+523 There should be a universal volume all music files have to be so there isn't one super quite and then the next one blows up your speakers because you had them turned all the way up for the last one, amirite?

You can make all the songs on your iPod the same volume, y'know, that is, if you have an iPod lol. :D Go search up "sound check iPod" or similar.

Most modern music software (like iTunes or Windows Media Player) have a type of volume normalization that will do this.

I can see this being a problem with classical music though, which varies quite a bit within a single song.

Yes, but that's the point. Instrumental music is supposed to vary in volume within a single piece.
