+189 Americans should feel lucky to have Obama as their president and stop bad mouthing him. I live in New Zealand and wish we could have a prime minister as good as Obama. amirite?

america is a far shot away from socialism. I understand why some people feel like they are having their choices taken away and having the decisions made for them, but when it's for the greater good, is it really so bad for the government to have to make that choice? NZ functions pretty much the same way as Obama's government in running US and we're doing just fine. Noone has much to complain about.

Ah the greater good. In the end, has it really done the most good?

People who sacrifice freedom for temporary security deserve neither and will lose both, as Benjamin Franklin told us

You don't live here, so you don't know.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yes, of course, because it's not like they have international news in New Zealand or anything...

You don't always have to have first hand experience about something to be educated enough to form an opinion about it. For example, I didn't live during the Salem Witch Trials. Doesn't mean that I can't hold the belief that they were unjust and immoral.

Obama is by no means the Messiah. He's not perfect. No one is, and no one should be held to such expectations. But for some strange reason, the American people think that if he doesn't accomplish all of the goals he outlined before his presidency, he's a failure and the worst President ever. That is complete bullshit; the President has a million people and a million things to consider every time he makes a decision. No one is ever going to be happy with everything a President chooses to do. It's impossible. There are so many terrible dictators we could be living under; I mean, look at Kim Jung Il! The crazy shit he does to his people, my God... People have no reason to complain about Obama the way that they do. Especially after bin Laden's assassination.

Agreed. Only I live in Aus.

Then quit your bitchin and move to the United States

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(Toto!): Yes, because moving half way around the world is obviously a choice for everyone who doesn't like their government.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's obviously a choice for illegal mexicans, why not throw New Zealanders in on the mix?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

(Toto!): Mexico is a hell of a lot closer than New Zealand.

In South Africa, we have a president that's a polygamist (5 wives, 20 kids) and he thinks taking a shower after unprotected sex will prevent AIDS. He also likes singing a song about machine guns at his campaign rallies. Also he never finished high school. Top that. smirk

Way to make our country look great and increase tourism, man. Well done.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Lol. U mad? Everything I said was true. :)

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know it is. Just don't see why you insist on advertising.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I felt it was relevant to the post. Get over it man. It's not like people read amirite posts before deciding which country to travel too. :/

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Not like we can google anything! If it's not said on amirite, the rest of the world has no way of figuring out what's going on, right?

by Anonymous 10 years ago

That's...I mean...wow. I won't even try to top that.

Obama could be a lot worse but that doesn't mean he isn't still a bad president. At a time that our country is in so much debt there is no way anybody should be pushing more socialist programs than we already have. If we keep going down this road of overspending then we could face a complete economic collapse, and unless if the world changes the global economic backing from the U.S. dollar then most of the world will fall with us.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He's not pushing socialist programs, and the stimulus bill helped thousands +, get jobs. If anything he's doing less spending than GWB did (700 billion to bail out banks), and that was only right before he left office (handing off his crappy decisions to Obama, who everyone then blamed for the bailout)

(Anonymous):Bush was definitely worse than Obama, he did spend a lot more and he is the reason for our economic troubles. But we have seen in the budget situation that Obama refuses to cut a significant amount of spending. He is not as bad as bush but his administration is just making our economic situation worse. At this point I just hope he doesn't try to come after my gun. In our current state I may just need it someday.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

He is NOT going to come after your gun...why do people keep saying that? Obviously he's not going to destroy the constitution. If anything, the only gun control he wants is to limit machine guns (like used in military) away from civilians, so things like the VA Tech shooting won't be able to happen as frequently. (It's harder to shoot 31 people when you have to reload repeatedly.) And why do you need a gun in this current state, any more than usual at least? I don't mind people having guns, they are useful for self defense. But why this CURRENT state? Nothing has changed that has upped the criminal rate of muggings, rape, or murder; in fact it has gone down over the last decade or so. So no, in this current state you do NOT need a gun anymore than usual. And yes, I agree spending does need to be cut but at this point we have to spend more before we can cut anything...

aww this is cute :)

YOu have no idea, even some Americans who live her have no clue, there's more going on than most people are aware or pay attention to! And that's all I have to say, I'm not debating anyone cause no one will change my mind!
