+231 It can be very obvious when an author decides to add more books to what was clearly supposed to be a trilogy. amirite?

Or make it so there's another series or trilogy that links to the previously said one :L

Mortal Instruments... Honestly, I wish The Infernal Devices was the one with more books.

Wow, that's so true. Not that many people care about MI, so I wasn't expecting someone to say it. I loved the fourth book, but I was shocked to find out a fourth one was coming out! I can't wait for the second ID to come out.

I was halfway through CoA when I stopped reading it. Clary just annoys me somehow. But I love Tessa. Two more days to go!

I agree. Clay is one of my least favorite characters, but I am glad she is at least stubborn, determined, and cares for her family. in the recent books, she's just "Jace, Jace, Jace!" (Which is probably annoying because the their relationship should have stopped being important after the third book). I still love MI because there's lots more great about it, but maybe ID will become my favorite. Tessa is awesome, and I'm liking Jem better than Jace. Idk about Will yet.

Will's just really witty and annoying. His one-liners makes everyone (sort of everyone) happy though. But most of Clare's male leads are just too perfect. I mean, a chipped tooth is like the only physical imperfection of Jace, which is not possible for a human being. Or at least a fictional human being. I'm still deciding whether or not I'll continue City of Ashes. There's just really something about Clary... And Luke - was it Luke? I can't remember. Just googled it, yep, it's Luke. Maybe after reading CP I'll finish CoA, but for now... Eh.

I definitely recommend finishing the entire MI series. Yes, Jace and Clary can get annoying, but there is so much you don't know about them, especially until COG! Plus, I think reading on to see how everything plays out with Valentine (who I think is an awesome villain) will make the series interesting. Clare DID basically make up new issues so that there could be a 4th, 5th, and 6th book, but book they are still good! ( I actually really admire Clare's writing style. I even wrote to her about it, lol) Despite Jace's perfection, I understood him better later, and even though things seem forced in the 4th book, I think I wanted to cry, have a heart attack, laugh, and tear my hair out while reading that one. Just curious, what's wrong with Luke? He is sort of a bland character, but he develops a little more later on. I think the whole cockiness thing works better for Jace than it does for Will (something about the time period. Sometimes Will's dialogue sounded like it belonged in the 20th century), but I think Will is more...reasonable? I can't wait to read ID. Who the heck is Cecily already! Okay, gushing over.

Yeah, Clare's writing style is really great. Like J.K. Rowling's. But there was too many punctuation mistakes, and I have to pause five seconds point blank to continue every sentence... I like to think that's a reasonable enough excuse. Maybe in a few weeks, for Christmas break, when I find a sale for CoG because I'm that cheap of a person. The whole unrequited love thing. Just seems like eh. Sometimes I'm even surprised they didn't have internet back then because he seems so natural as a jock just by his dialogues. Atleast he reads. Won't she be revealed in CP? I hope so. I finally have the Collector's Edition! >:D I just don't know how the letter is supposed to come with the book... A lot of people fangirl every now and then, so that's pretty reasonable!

I totally get you. I actually didn't notice many errors when I was reading, maybe because I was so into it. I have read some books that were AWFUL when it came to grammar, and there were tons of obvious typos. Did Clare over-punctuate? I tend to do that myself sometimes, so maybe that's why I didn't notice.

Yeah, she did, but she improved now. I think it's just a poor part on the editing process. But the way she phrases things is just so wonderful.
