There are other numbers smaller than three. It would have made more sense to say that 2.9999999999... is love.

Love is the limit as x approaches 3. Always less than, never equal to 3.

Yeah but 2.999999999... is actually equal to three, not less than it. Kinda like how .9 repeating is equal to one.
