No one appreciates how hard band kids work to put on concerts and play pep songs at football games. amirite?

Tell me about it! I'm sweating my hair off while I can't breathe and I'm trying so hard to keep in line during the half-time show, and the most I get when it's over is, "Oh, that was nice."

Do you mean playing songs for the 1st quarter in the most inappropriate times, then leaving for the 2nd and 3rd quarters for an extended "break", then coming back in the 4th to play songs drowning out our offense when our players need to communicate?

Our football team hates it when we dont go to games. They love us. And a lot of our crowd goes to the game just to watch our half time show. And the cheering can be deafening when we march off the field.

For my cousin's band, they are VERY appreciated. He is in one of the top bands. My friend is in band, and you can tell they work hard, but they still aren't AMAZING, and our school appreciates football too much. We suck, but gah :/

im a cheerleader for my school and i saw the band preform this year's halftime show for the first time yesterday and it was more rehearsed and beautifully done then anything we've ever showed. my school's all about football so no one even bothered to clap or even aknowledge the band.. even though they're nationally ranked while the football team hasnt won a championship since 2007.

It's worse when they don't pay attention to the drummers carrying a snare drum that, with the harness on, stands more than half their height and definitely weighs more than half the drummer does. >.> *I'm that person*

We were always appreciated in the stands, because at one point the football coach asked us to play more, because we would only play when the other team had the ball (it was an unspoken rule in our county). But when halftime came around, the stands would be empty.

I'm in colorgaurd. It's so freaking hard to nit run over/ whack any band players! I haven't hurt anyone so far( I'm a freshmen) so I think we are doing a good job :) our band is won nationals last year I think, idk they said we won somthing :)

Our football team and cheerleaders totally appreciate us, but the rest of the school could care less even though of all the groups in the school, we represent it the best. we are the only group besides drama that ever wins anything or recieves recognition. and the people who say we should just not play at games are a minority. because our audience loves when we play songs that they know. and we only play when the other team has the ball. nobody realizes how hard marching band is at all. it takes almost all of my spare time.
