Someone who really wanted to know the roots of a 2nd degree polynomial without graphing it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

all the person had to do was complete the square using coefficients instead of actual numbers and solving for x

Hurray for quadratic equations?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

All you've got to do is start with ax+bx=c and complete the square to solve for x. I've done it myself a few times.

It's also sad that I know this by heart from a song I learned two years ago... -.-

It's been about 5 years since I learned it and I still know it by heart.

is it to the tune of pop goes the weasel? thats how i learned it lmao

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yah it is actually! I get it stuck in my head all the time sadly... But at least I pass my test =)

Ugh. My teacher went over how he figured it out...with a very long multiple step equation that no one was listening to. At least we didnt have to do much the rest of class. And i enjoy the fact i know what the quadratic formula is!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's EXACTLY what my entire class wondered

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My teacher made us figure this out by our selves. quadratics are ridiculous. >.>
