its sad that my mom is only spending $50 on back-to-school clothes, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Go to FML if you're expecting sympathy because you can't buy the latest trends...
by Anonymous13 years ago
I never said I wanted "the latest trends" I don't even know what the latest trend is right now
by Anonymous13 years ago
Then go to goodwill or walmart... You can buy your entire cart there for fifty dollars if you shop smart...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Its $50 dollars on a khols gift card. I can only spend it at khols
by Anonymous13 years ago
Boohoo?
by Anonymous13 years ago
awwwh whatever will you do! poor you! you have to buy clothes that AREN'T designer label, who cares baout the people in the wolrd that have no food. pshh. the only thing i care about is you only being able to buy something from Khols!!
by Anonymous13 years ago
At least you can buy clothes. What about the people who don't get any?
by Anonymous13 years ago
stop being a whiny bitch
by Anonymous13 years ago
With today's pricing, you can maybe get one pair of jeans... MAYBE...
T-shirts, yeah, Walmart has good pricing. Nice jeans though, not even fancy ones, those can cost a bit.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(mlpanda13):WTF? Are you being serious...
by Anonymous13 years ago
There are TONS of stores that have jeans for $15. Where the hell do you people live? I'm guessing you're not the smartest shoppers...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ok, I go to almost any store in the malls in my area. I don't go for anything special, but lets face it, clothes are effing expensive.
by Anonymous13 years ago
idunno how to rate this, i get you want new clothes but i mean, c'mon. i can afford clothes but i only spent like $25 on a couple things this year because i knew that i didn't really need it. the economy's shit- be happy with what you got, man.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It depends on how much you NEED the clothes.
by Anonymous13 years ago
That's selfish. Those fifty dollars could feed half the kids in Africa.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I get what you're saying but half the kids in the entire continent of Africa? Sorry, but that's a bit of an over exaggeration. But yes, I never understood why people felt they had to spend so much money on clothes. "I'm going to spend 60 bucks on a shirt that says HOLLISTER" WTF?
by Anonymous13 years ago
That entire statement about Africa was a joke. Haha? I was just using that to exemplify the selfishness and how other people would love having fifty dollars.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My jeans cost 55 each; Hah. & Chill out guys it's a post, no need to get allll fucking mad about everything.
by Anonymous13 years ago
You're an abuser of punctuation.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Oh, were you expecting sympathy? I haven't gone back to school shopping since I was in fifth grade. And I'm a sophomore at Auburn.
I would be ecstatic to have my mom to give me $50 to spend on clothes.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's sad that you're complaining. Some people can't buy any clothes. $50 is a lot to some people.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Everybody has clothes. Law of public Nudity anyone..?
by Anonymous13 years ago
I spent 200 dollars on like two pairs of jeans; a sweatshirt; and like a few shirts. 50 dollars is not a lot when a shirt costs like 17.
by Anonymous13 years ago
... Wow. o__o
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's all about shopping smart. Go straight to the clearance area or something if you wanted to buy like ten shirts. Just a suggestion ^^
by Anonymous13 years ago
Shirts cost anywhere from 5-200$. So, if you're expected to get 3 shirts, a jacket, some pants, ect. Then yeah, you're screwed. I get cheap clothes with an occasional visit to Hot Topic.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Let's see, I went shopping today for "back-to-school".
My mom said I could buy clothes and anything else and she'd pay, but guess what? I bought a $9 shirt that I wanted and a white t-shirt that I needed for tennis. With my own money.
Why did I not spend a ton? Because I'm not a greedy biotch and feel that my closet is already full enough, and I can survive without buying another truckload. If you really want to buy something, use your own money.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Kohl's clothes are expensive, 50$ there is 2 jeans and a shirt.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm pretty sure my whole wardrobe is from Kohls and I haven't spent over 80 dollars on it. Hmm. Weird.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Not if you shop in clearance. You can still get cute things that are more reasonably priced.
by Anonymous13 years ago
DOLLAR TREE!!!
by Anonymous13 years ago
Boo Fucking Hoo. My parents haven't bought me anything since I was a freshman in high school. I have friends that are even worst off. You shouldn't complain.
by Anonymous13 years ago
cry me a river. boohoo you only have $50. im a senior and still have things that fit me from middle school. and guess what? i pay for ALL my clothes so stop bitching and moaning. maybe if you're going to complain this much you should get a job and learn the value of a dollar. i have no sympathy for you spoiled brats.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yes i get it guys "50 dollars could feed a family in africa for months" well we are in america bitches and our shit is expensive, who knows if she has older siblings for hand me downs or if she just doesnt fit into her old clothes... 50 dollars is not alot people, you have to take your heads out of your ass'
by Anonymous13 years ago
K, if 50 dollars isn't a lot why don't you go ahead and give me 50 dollars and I'll show you how far I can stretch a dollar.
by Anonymous13 years ago
there are a ton of places that have cheap clothes; tjmaxx, ross, goodwill, thrift stores, hell even american eagle and forever 21 have cheap clothes and SALES!
by Anonymous13 years ago
American eagle has good jeans for 30. And forever 21 you could probably get a bunch of stuff. Buy your bts stuff in the beginning of august cuz thats when all their sales are.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Hey every single person on here. Who gives a shit if someone on here wants to spend 600 dollars on clothes?! That doesn't make them greedy. They just put their money towards clothes instead of other MATERALISTIC things. Um iPods anyone? Laptops? Cell phone? A pet?If anyone critiqueing his spending has any of those things they should shut up right now. Because it's just ad expensive.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(duck, Anon) i love how you people are being so hypocritical if you actually had 50 to spend on clothes that are supposed to last you a year you would be screwed to, i think in your mind you think it is alot but i went and bought one pair of jeans and you know how much it cost? 80 dollars. i think you need to wisen up people and really see that things arent as cheap as they appear.
by Anonymous13 years ago
but you don't NEED to buy such expensive stuff.
by Anonymous13 years ago
ya $80 if your buying name brand. that's why it's expensive.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I got jeans for like $15 from pac sun! :D
by Anonymous13 years ago
Seriously? at least your mom gave you money to spend. a lot of people have no money to spend.stop whining and if your over 16 then get a job
by Anonymous13 years ago
She's being materialistic, but at the same time, I do see her point. $50, in this period of time is not a lot of money to last clothes for a whole school year.
by Anonymous13 years ago
(Anonymous) No i didnt say that she NEEDED to i said that it is understandable how she is upset at this amount of money
by Anonymous13 years ago
I just bought a bunch of shirts at Charlotte russe for $3 each! $50 isn't a lot for school shopping. That would suck.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ok, I think we can understand this much.
1. OP may have grown and wants new clothes to impress peers at school. If going into high school, this becomes important to the average person, as they want to make a good impression.
2. The clothes OP wants are not the t-shirts you get at your average Walmart. She wants something nicer than that.
3. More users agree than disagree at the moment in time I'm writing this.
4. If you know the value of the american dollar, you'd know that doesn't get a whole lot. I mean, I live in a small family, and $50 is a struggle to stretch. Not impossible of course, but difficult.
5. People that say that it's easy to stretch the money most likely didn't do their back-to-school shopping at the dollar tree or Walmart, so they really can't say much.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I get $300 every year for school clothes, $50 would suck.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I wish my parents bought me clothes. But hey, I like working for what I have.
by Anonymous13 years ago
New pair of shoes. That's all that I get. Stop complaining and be happy that you get new things every year.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Where I live everything is uber expensive and you can NOT get enough clothes for an entire school year for $50, but you should still appreciate what you have. Seriously, don't come complaining on amirite.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Thrift stores, Goodwill. Try it sometime.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Ok you guys, I'm over it now'so you can be too. Actually, I was over it, like 2 weeks ago. I've seen the error of my ways and all. No need to get all worked up. Okay?
by Anonymous13 years ago
To all of you who think you're so smart: I'm 13, I can't get a job. I don't get an allowance because my family believes that since we're a family we help each other without expecting anything in return. And $50 dollars cannot feed half the children in Africa. Maybe if they each got half a grain of rice. And rice isn't very filling. Now if I could use my own money, I would. But all the money I have is found on sidewalks. And I already got my school clothes, so you guys can quit bitching
by Anonymous13 years ago
I do get that $50 isn't that much money. I was just pissed because it was YOU that was "bitching" about money. Since you don't get money that often, wouldn't it make sense for you to appreciate it when you do get it?
by Anonymous13 years ago
you beat me to it. "wouldn't it make sense for you to appreciate it when you do get it?" (thumbs up for your comment)
by Anonymous13 years ago
wait.. we're still allowing 13 year olds on the internet?
by Anonymous13 years ago
yes. Why?
by Anonymous13 years ago
so stop using it as a dumping ground for all your pathetic problems.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My mom spent no money on back-to-school clothes for me or my sister. I don't think it's sad. Not everyone gets new school clothes every year. Be happy you got new clothes at all, even if it was "only" $50 worth.
by Anonymous13 years ago
HAVEN'T YOU EVER HEARD OF OUTLETS?
by Anonymous13 years ago
I only had $30 for back to school clothes and I didn't have a lot of clothes to begin with. Those $30 were mine from babysitting. I tried getting a job all summer, but adults are applying everywhere because the economy is still so slow right now.
$50 dollars isn't a lot, but it's enough. You don't need hundreds of outfits. You go to school a maximum of 5 days a week. You need maybe six or seven outfits. :/
by Anonymous13 years ago
my mom does this too and i have the same problem :( you would understand only if your mom did this too.. i just think its totally just torture
by Anonymous10 years ago
