+607 Calvin and Hobbes actually has some very, intellectual and philisophical debates involved. If you read it, you wonder how little kids can understand half the jokes. amirite?

I've read all of the books

I want a Hobbes. That was the best comic ever. Plus it was the first to use the word "boogers" in a comic strip.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Really? You learn something new everyday...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yup. Bill Watterson said it in his 10th Anniversary book.

You want a Hobbes? Hello there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why, hello, Hobbes. This just reminded me of Hobbes in the washing machine. xD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just got out. my fur is laundry-detergent fresh. I also had to get stitches again. Calvin couldn't take a joke.

@466900 (Hobbes): Oh, Calvin... Do you still hate time travelling?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It makes me woozy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Aw... but still, time travel is pretty cool. Except for when you have to deal with four differently timed Calvins.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You have no idea. And Calvin's ideas never work out.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Like the Transmogrifier gun?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hey, that was an awesome idea.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It was, but then it ran out of... whatever it is that was inside... and then Calvin was stuck as an owl.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He looked better as an owl.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Maybe... I like regular ol' Calvin. Except for when he's Stupendous Man or Spaceman Spiff.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

comics are not just for little kids

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I definitly understand it more now that I'm older. That's one of the best things about Calvin and Hobbes, kids, teen, and adults all have their own view of it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think the target audience is young adults. Mostly because Wattterson is an adult, so he writes at his own level. Kids understand the more simple stuff, like Calvin's dislike for girls and babysitters. Watterson really nailed it when it came to creating a six year old boy's personality, though Calvin's dialogue is advanced and he's a lot crazier. But that what makes it appeal to us. Calvin and Hobbes is definately the best comic stript ever made. I read all the books multiple times. My dad collected them.

I agree. We read Calvin and Hobbes in my Theory of Knowledge class last year. It's great how such simple things can have a deeper meaning in that comic.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

SERIOUSLY. Isn't Theory of Knowledge an advanced IB class? DAMN!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Wow, I'm surprised. You're the first person that I've met on amirite that knows about IB. Everyone takes TOK in Junior and/or senior year in order to get their diploma. Are you in IB?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This proves that there's alot of fan of calvin and hobbes

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sometimes when I would learn something new, it would allow understand another Calvin and Hobbes joke. It was always a great feeling. I have every strip.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Do you have the one wher Calvin's dad tells him the world used to be black and white? That's my mom's favourite. It was so funny the way his dad explained science to him.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, I have all of them. Occasionally, I'll go through and read them all, but usually my memory serves me pretty well.
