If gym was an optional class, you wouldn't take it. amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Our school has different kinds of PE classes, and I just LOOOOVE PE. Getting a credit for running around, playing games and being loud? Hell to the yes.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I made a terrible mistake, I decided to take Band instead of P.E. Turns out the burning sensation inside of your shoulders is JUST HELL! But I only have to take it once this year and I have ALL my P.E. credits :D
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm a gym class hero. Seriously.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yup. There's no option at my school, because we don't have a gymnasium :) Which is awesome! P.E. sounds like crap, generally. There are sports teams and dance classes, though.
by Anonymous13 years ago
yeah no one listens to the teacher and most people sit around in our pe classes. It's pathetic. My school lets you opt out for sports, but not first year unless you do 2 sports because *you might not make the team*. VERY few people don't make any sor t of team at my school. Football doesn't have cuts, and tennis (my sport) barely has enough people tryout as it is. Stupid counselors...

My school p.e. is an option for grade 11 and 12, you only need grade 8,9,10 P.E.
P.E. is a fun class... except for the beep test.
by Anonymous13 years ago
It's called the pacer and it's not even hard. Physical fitness is important for a healthy life and all those kids who don't play sports really do need those 50 minutes of exercise a day.
by Anonymous13 years ago
where I'm from it's called the beep test
it's different everywhere
get over it
and why FORCE people to be active? If they want to be fat, let them
by Anonymous13 years ago
You say get over it like I'm mad that you called it the beep test. Beep test just sounds like you're in 2nd grade, sorry if I'm "insulting" your fitness tests. And when more and more lazy people just get fatter and fatter, when they have kids, they pass on their lack of interest in physical fitness and horrible eating habits. Over time, the combination of the two will lead to excessive obesity all throughout the world, leading to an increase in certain chronic diseases, decrease in the average life span of human beings, and just an overall failure of the human race. Fat = Bad.

Beep test suuuuuucks.
Do you have like the automated recording thing too?
I can't get past a nine.
-.-
by Anonymous13 years ago
hell! I STILL didn't take it.

In my high school, you needed one full credit of gym, and a semester of health.
So, after freshman year, I was done with gym. :)
by Anonymous13 years ago
I'm a fereshman, I'm sooooo ready to get out of that gym! It sucks ass! Lucky for me, I only have to take it for grade 9 And our health class is incorporated in it

Canadian?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Actually I took two extra years of PE because I liked it.
by Anonymous13 years ago
If we played a sport we had to take an all year pe instead of a semester one, and that pe was hell. Regular pe wasn't bad depending on what coach you had. My senior year I almost couldn't graduate because they hadn't scheduled my second pe.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I actually couldn't get into PE this year because all the PE 11 classes were full.
=(
I wasn't very happy.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My PE classes have finally become optional. I've been waiting 6 years for this.
Ohh, the joys of being in year 13.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My pe classes are compulsory up to year 11, but year 12 and 13 it's optional! Only a year to go 'till I can not do pe.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I have multiple disabilities and a service dog and I STILL have to take gym! The obese kids, however, take Yoga. I hate my school.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I love working out and stuff, but there are better things to do at school.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Really? PE rocks. No homework, playing games, yelling and just having fun is what it's about. And yes, the fitness testing sucks but it's good for you right? I'm also on the badminton, basketball, and swim team + taking PE 12. Love it, but that's just my opinion. :)

Badmitten team?!

At my school you have to do Phys. Ed (gym plus the theory work) for the first two years. (I'm in Australia, so "high school" is five years long, starting in the year you turn thirteen and ending in the year you turn seventeen). I dropped out of it and being able to avoid the rules about changing was bliss. (We have to change out of normal uniform and into sports uniform during the break before the lesson and back again after)
But I graduate October 22, so WOO!
