+756 2.4+2.4=4.8, which rounds to 2+2=5, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

You don't "round" a number by 17%

by Anonymous 13 years ago

there's no more rounding down according to my 3rd grade sister. they told her it was like "undressing cinderella"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It makes no sense that you can't round down anymore. What if you had to round the number 3.1? You would round it to four, which would make estimating a whole lot off mark. And no offense, but you're going to use your 9 year old sister as a credible resource?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

(My name): how about we all just use big boy and girl math and not use rounding any more at all! and yes, i looked at the directions. "Round these numbers up and then add!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

"Undressing Cinderella"? WTF does that even mean?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

no clue, it's what she tells me. but the directions said "round these numbers up and then add" sooo yeah.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I would look up what the term "undressing Cinderella" means, but I have a strong feeling I'd just get porn.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why would you round it? If you're using decimals in the first place then they probably need to stay there.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

im just rounding to the nearest whole number?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah, but you don't round down anymore.. they changed the rule.. sooo you woulda been right still if you'd done it correctly.. it would have been 3+3=5.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you cant just change the rule to math.......? its math. if you have been able to round down before then thats the way it should always be....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that's the way it SHOULD be, but i'm telling you, my sister is in the third grade, learning how to round, and i was going to help her with it when she told me that they don't round down anymore. i don't agree with it, but it's true, they've changed the rule.

How are we supposed to take you seriousl if your user name is "Pot_Head"? For all we know, you could be/could have been high....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

have you seen my picture? it's a POT on my HEAD. a play on words of you will.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Ah. Gotcha. Lawl. I feel like a dumbass now. XD

by Anonymous 13 years ago

it's cool, mayne. i forgive you.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's cute and I like it, but technically it's wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. You can't round both before and after the equal sign.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People here don't get the joooke... >:[

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2+2=5? wat.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

@ShanLovesStuff: oh, we get it; it's just a really lame joke, and incorrect to boot.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yes, it's not some Einstein solution. It's not supposed to be, though. It's just a joke. Chill lawl

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and since 2+2=5 you can round that again and say that 0 = 10.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lolz true.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

IT'S A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jeez, people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2+2=fish... just thought I'd throw that out there... hehe...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

2+2= stop loving men

by Anonymous 13 years ago

never knew id cause such a debate

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Guys, just shut up already. It's supposed to be cute and funny, not correct....

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The entire conceit of the joke is that the mathematics actually work, which they don't. This joke is no funnier than me saying "2.4 rounds to 10, so 2+2=100!"

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't get it...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Most of us (I guess not all) were taught in school that when you round, if it's smaller than five, you round down to the next whole number (Like 4.1 rounds to 4) and numbers 5 or larger round up (like 8.5 rounds to 9). If you have 2.4+2.4=4.8, after rounding it, you have 2+2=5.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yaaayy :)
