Humans are obviously not animals. In scientific terms maybe, but we don't go around eating other animals and we are actually smart. We just should not even be considered animals, amirite?

We are superior to all animals????!!!!! Okay, how about you're on a hike in Africa, and all of a sudden a lion jumps out and is debating whether to attack and kill and eat you. Your supposed "superiosness" won't change its decision. Also, just because you are a human doesn't make you smart. It makes you human. All kinds of animals are smart and clever in their own ways. For example, two horses once saved the lives of my friend and me. They heard something while out on a trail, and my friend heard a low growl. If we had pushed them further on the path we could have fallen off if it scared them that badly and been killed by whatever was out there. It's people like you that give the human race a bad name.

well frankly, i think humans are a bit stupid in terms of the animal kingdom. i mean, sure we can build things with our technology, but in reality, we're overpopulating the earth, we have wars for illogical reasons, we depend A LOT on materialistic things that can easily stop working at any moment (TV, computers, etc.), and we're running out all the resources we have on the only planet we can live on. you take away all the modern luxuries we have and humans would we wiped out in a second. we're pretty much a bunch of self-centered, self-glorified pricks.

we used to do that, back when we were hunter-gatherers. we are an intelligent species, but we are still animals, organisms, ect. we have all the basic characterisitcs and needs of animals, were justa tad more intelligence and have opposable thumbs

Yeah... this was NOT a well thought out post. FYI other animals are smart as well, the octopus, animals that hunt in packs.... explain how ducks know which direction to fly, how wolves have a hierarchy... etc.

well,before we did go around and eat animals.And animals ARE smart,look at the army ants,they make bridges out of themselves to cross a river,that's pretty damn smart.So are primates,some even learned to pick locks,and bees figured out how to kill one of their biggest enemies,much larger and dangerous bees.Besides,we do sometimes go and kill animals for ood.

As much as everyone is hating on this post, there is some logic behind it. He's just saying there's such a big gap between human society and all other animals' societies that we really shouldn't be considered animals. This makes sense, sure there are intelligent animals, but none of them have come close to building a fraction of the complex society humans have built over the years. Man has taken so many bothersome elements out of daily life it's mind-blowing. There really is a difference between man and the animal kingdom. The post is somewhat ignorant and closed minded, but still true.

Yes, scientifically we are animals. I'm well aware of that. I'm just saying there's a big difference between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom, to the point where we don't resemble animals. Sometimes those instinctual traits come out, but for the most part we're very different.

This is probably the most unintelligent statement I have ever read on here. Humans are more uncivillized than most wild animals. We feel spite, anger, hatred, passionate rage. Animals can feel anger, happiness, and fear, but only humans kill out of sport, revenge, bloodthirst, desire, competition, -and in the most sociopathic cases- pleasure. This is sick and twisted. I believe that even though we have all this technology and science and sentiency, animals are more intelligent than humans. They only take what they need and each enviroment (not including invasive species) is harmonious and balances itself. Humans offset that balance and that makes us lower than animals.
