This is very relevant to my interests, I just made 4 dental appointments to fix old fillings that fell out/got worn down, and novocaine does nothing for me. :|

Last year I had a dental appointment that was terrifying me, and the night before it I sat up in bed reading The Hunger Games, then fell asleep and dreamed that I'd been surgically altered by my prep team and they'd fixed all my dental problems while I was out. It was a really good dream and I felt very relieved in it, despite my imminent death.

It's really not that bad. Even cavities are fine without Novocaine.

My dentist offers laughing gas for routine appointments free of charge. Close your eyes while using it and it feels like it takes no time at all.
