+696 Weird to think that in 100 years Everyone on earth will be dead, and there will be 500 million brand new people here. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I wonder how many people have existed in all time. I know there like 6 billion of us now, but how many different people have lived, all together?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Estimates vary from 100-120 billion people.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only 500 million? I think you might be wrong.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hahahahahaha 500 million

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What if they were just born today, and lived to be over 100?

The number of babies being born increases every year so the earth will be severely over populated here in 100 years. Some theories suggest that in 150 years earth will be so over populated that there will not be enough food for everyone and people will start dying, signaling the end of human life.

I'm glad I wont be alive then

W@538243 (slytherinangel): The earths population is expectd to plateu at 9.5-12 billion. The thing it that developed countries (America, Canada, most of Europe, Russia, Australia) have almost no population growth, so once the rest of the world becomes industrialized, there will be no population growth in the entire world.

1. Get your facts straight, it wouldn't be the end of human life, it would just reach the end of growth. Imagine free falling. When you are being pulled down by gravity at a constant speed, you will keep falling faster and faster (babies being born) until you reach terminal velocity (food supply) When the food supply is equal to the babies being born, then no one else will be born. Humans won't just go extinct because we overpopulate. People will just die, and we will stay at that number.

No. It's called a carrying capacity? Animals reach it, and so will humans eventually.

Many people alive today will still be here 100 years from now, especially with all the medical breakthroughs that are probably going to happen. And only 500 million new people? In the 16 years that I've been alive for, more then 1 billion new people have been born. There are going to be billions more by then.

This is probably true, but I also heard that the average life span is currently decreasing due to humans being kind of lazy and overweight.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The average lifespan in some countries is projected to decrease, but the number of centenarians will most likely increase, due to advances in medicine and the sheer increased population size.

deep..deep thoughts.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd give it 120 years just for good measure.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah you should get your numbers straight there hombre
