+107 Speaking as a girl from Wisconsin, it annoys us when you call our state West-consin. There is no East-consin. And stop giggling when we say the word bubbler, amirite?

Bubbler...?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A bong.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Sorta. It looks like a Sherlock Holmes pipe, but in the bottom of the bowl piece there's a sort of tube looking thing that goes down to the bottom and into the water. A bong usually has a male piece and a female piece to take a hit, a bubbler usually has a carb.

I think everyone else calls it a water fountain..?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oooohhh, ok. :D that's a cute way to say water fountain! ^_^

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha thanks. The water just kinda bubbles out. So we call it a bubbler. A water fountain is something you throw pennies in.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Logical. I like it.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Its called a bubbler in WI because Kohler Company (based in Sheboygan) made a "water fountain" called the bubbler.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm from WI and don't call it a bubbler... it's a water fountain :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

and its POP not soda and fried cheese curds are wonderful, don't ya know?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, I call it soda but yes, fried cheese curds are pretty much one of the most amazing things on the planet. One more amazing thing about Wisconsin: SUNDROP. :)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wait they dont sell sundrop other places? im from WI and i didnt know that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No. It's based out of Shawano, WI. (Only a fifteen minute drive from where I live, so Sundrop in glass bottles are frequently available in my household. :) ) If you go into a restaurant outside of Wisconsin and ask for a Sundrop in a bottle, they look at you like you're insane.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

hmmm thats so odd. i had no idea. like i said ive lived in WI my entire life(near the dells) and i just figured it was like any other brand of soda. i never bought it while visiting another state though...oh and they dont really have many culvers down south mainly only in the midwest

by Anonymous 13 years ago

they have sun drop in Texas (where I stay) and culvers too haha

by Anonymous 12 years ago

There's Sundrop in Virginia too hon...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm aware. At the time, Sundrop had not yet gone national.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm from Stevens point WI and my friend from Maryland always makes fun of me cuz I say bubbler

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What the hell is a Wisconsin?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's okay Wisconsin lady, us Rhode Islanders call them bubblers too.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

We say bubbled in new England too. And "wicked"

by Anonymous 12 years ago

It's 2011, I really don't think states have many "special things" anymore. The world is too mixed up to claim so much individuality.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Do you say "y'all" and "yes sir/m'am" to literally everyone over 30?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I will always laugh when I hear the word bubbler.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I live right across the river from Prescott. I do not like Wisconsin.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

That's cool.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I'm from Illinois. We have...corn!!!!! That's all I can really think of.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Hehe... Bubbler...

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Yup Im from Wisconsin too. We also say "budging in line" instead of cutting in line, and "stop n' go lights" instead of traffic lights. Milk can sometimes be pronouced either "milk or melk" Tailgating means grilling out behind your car before a football or baseball game, and depending on what part of the state your from, aunt can be pronounced as "ant or aw-nt" These may be true for other parts of the country too, Im not sure. Oh and for those that are wondering, cow tipping is physically impossible to do.
