-112 You hate it when you make dinner for someone, they compliment you on how good it is, and you jokingly say, "Oh, it's just because you didn't have to make it!" And then they agree with you, and you're like... that's why I cooked for you, so you didn't have to, so you could insult me? It's just rude, amirite?

I can't say that's ever happened to me... then again, I can't cook. hmm

So you're mad that they agree with you? That bitch.

Aren't you sort of asking for a teasing response back if you make one all "You just like it because you didn't have to make it yourself"? At most I'd just be like "Pft!" and might playfully call them a jerk or something. I severely doubt anyone you bothered to make food for would be someone you can't joke with.

I agree they are setting themselves up to getting insulted

Just don't make the joke then.

Ikr, all day erryday

If it bothers you so much just poison their food. Problem solved.

You could have just said "thank you" and that whole situation would have been avoided. Just take the compliment next time, when you force yourself to sound humble (like saying what you said) you are just asking for a smart-ass reply
