Yes, and late in life child is downright spoiled.

I am a middle child and while I am ignored and exceedingly independent I also almost always get what I want. My parents spend the most money on me, but I hold most of the responsibility. But my younger sister gets everything she wants AND she can do no wrong in my parents eyes.

My dad babied the first, and ignored his daughters. I guess he didn't get this memo.

My sister (second/middle child) is the favorite and has an absolutely perfect life.

Speaking as a third child, I think this is false. But, my oldest brother is 21 years older than me, so I don't really have the typical family.

The third child thing also applies to only child.

This is completely true for me. I'm the middle child. My younger brother is 12 and is still the little baby of the family. Then my older brother of course is ALWAYS right. Not saying my life sucks though. I love my life :) But...this is still true for me.

For my middle brother, he gets paid the most attention because he craves it and doesn't want to do things for himself. My youngest brother is probably the favorite because he listens to my parents the most and has motivation still. But I'm the funniest so ha.

I don't think it's strict in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd. It's more like first child, middle children and youngest. And I think the first child is usually given preference because the parents had more exclusive bonding time with them. And the middle child thing is pretty true. And as the youngest of the family I've discussed this with others: we're either babies or thought we're going to do everything bad our older siblings did so our parents are paranoid.

I have middle child syndrome. It's not my fault though, it's my sister Marsha's. Marsha gets everything she wants, everyone thinks she's so hot, and innocent! UGH...MARSHA,MARSHA,MARSHA!

As the third child, yes, I would say I'm definitely babied. But sometimes I'm babied to the point where I usually get shafted in some situations. Then again, my mother is crazy, so it's probably just her.

Well, I'm the fifth, what does that make me?

Mormon.

I'm a middle child, but the taken for granted thing applies to me as well. I'd say that my older brother is almost as spoiled as my younger sister, but he's fucking hilarious so no one minds.
