It's really stupid that celebrities always say "Send money to the starving kids!" and "Send money to Haiti!". They have millions of dollars, yet they would rather spend it on $5,000 purses, dresses, and shoes. Amirite?

I agree that there are celebs out there who just do charity work to improve their reps but there are also some who do very good work. Their endorsements and the publicity they give to charities can be worth millions since they encourage other people to donate.

Just b/c the celebs have millions of dollars doesn't mean we can't donate. If the celebs didn't say anything about donating, we probably wouldn't do it.

What, someone should have to donate every extra penny they have for it to count? I'm sure the ones who honestly donate are quite generous... if for no other reason than the tax writeoff.

I'm pretty sure many celebrities donate large sums to charity. Do you expect them to donate every penny they earn (at least the hard working celebrities anyway)?

well, i get where you're coming from, but in all honesty: if you were a big money-making celeb, don't try to tell me you wouldn't spend money on expensive material items. plus being a celeb must be hard, if you didn't buy lots of clothes & accessories and heaven forbid you wore the same outfit in public twice, the paparazzi would be all over you.
