+278 You'd like to take birth control, for your health, and to regulate your period, but then people would assume, you're having sex. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'd like to take them for my Acne. But my mom won't trust me. -_-

by Anonymous 13 years ago

that silly cus you could still have sex regardless, but if you were on BC you would be safer

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, some people are less likely to hve sex, if they don't have protection. Parents feel like if they give their kids birth control, it's like giving them permission to have sex. Besides, if the kids really wanted to have sex, they'd either: 1.)do it wihtout protection 2.) Get condoms themselves.

I'm already on it to keep my period from going wonky and to use as a second form of birth control, but it sucks when people assume it's just for the sex. It's like "Hey, look at the slut over there taking the pill" I hate people :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

just tell them your taking period control not birth control ;)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well you just said "as a second form of birth control"...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Why do people(besides your parents, if you're underage) have to know you're on the pill?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

People are nosy and tend to go through your stuff. Through your purse, your bag, your bathroom(mostly actually looking for something). Or, someone you know might see you picking up your prescription.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Or if you have to do any kind of med release/liability form that asks you if you're on medication.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, I'd hope that only friends who wouldn't say things like that to me would be in my house or have access to my purse, and where I live prescriptions are given in little anonymous white paper bags *shrug* so those things didn't occur to me. I was thinking girls are taking them at school... which to me just sounds like begging for someone to notice.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It'd be cool if ALL girls could take it, no matter if they wanted to have safer sex or not. It makes your periods less awful and clears up your acne, AND helps as protection when having sex. I kind of think all girls should take it, if they WANT to that is, just so its not so fucking awful... :/

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I feel bad for some people who have a bad reaction to it. My mom says her cousin took brith control and it made her periods unbearable. She has three kids now.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

oh my gosh, really? that would be awful... :O

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Yeah, and I know someone who had her period for like a month without it stopping, and she had to go to the hospital.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

What you're saying sounds like the beginnings of a "Brave New World" and it scares me . . .

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm taking it for my acne and to regulate my period, and my mum seemed pretty cool with it, she knows i'm not having sex but when I do I think she'd be happier knowing i'm on the pill rather than coming home pregnant...I think all girls at 16/17 should be given the choice to go on it, without being classed as a slut.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Too many commas, my friend.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Is acne regulation meant by "for your health"? Because it can help a lot of things but isn't technically healthy to make your body think it's pregnant when it's not.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

No, I didn't know about the acne thing. My sister has to take them for her cramps, they're good for your heart and women who take the pill have longer life spans.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I've heard of them for cramps. And every birth control thing I've read said it can raise your blood pressure, which isn't very good for your heart. Which kind is she taking? And it might say that they have longer life spans because it's relatively new (the kind that we take today came out around the 70's, and it didn't really get popular above other forms until much later) and life spans are getting longer, therefore, woman who take it live longer.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

They compared the life spans of women who did take the pill and women who didn't within the same time period, so it has nothing to do with timing. I don't know what kind she's taking.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hmm must be a pretty oldschool kind if it's been around long enough that women who took it have died naturally. Well, that's cool.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm taking it for every health reason except sex.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I read this in Stevie's voice from Malcom in the Middle.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hahah why?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

The comma's, I'm guessing.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Haha ohhh thanks friend

by Anonymous 13 years ago

My apologies for the commas.
