+572 I've recently decided to freeze myself to -273ºC. My family thinks I'll die, but i think I'll be 0K. amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Don't do it man you'll die from that!!!1!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Dude, -273ºC is absolute zero at which the atoms completely stop moving. That point has never been reached in nature or through science. It is also known as 0ºK (K=kelvin)

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry it is actually -273.15 degrees celsius, he is short .15 degrees, we have in labs gotten much closer than this to absolute zero where new states of matter have been discovered.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Very true, yet I doubt that a person who did not understand the concept will find this .15ºK momentous, though some might.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

An additional .15 inches to his penis would be momentous.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think you're taking this post way too seriously. Sure, he's not accurate to the nearest hundredth of a degree but I'm sure you understood the joke he was trying to make. Besides, he might have just wanted to round.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yawn

by Anonymous 13 years ago

HAHAHAHAH chemistry/physics jokes FTW!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

LOL, WIN.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Oh, textual puns.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I don't get it :P

by Anonymous 13 years ago

0K 0 degrees K.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

0.15 degrees K

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If you round 0.15 to the nearest whole number, you'll still get 0.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Try telling the engineers at CERN who worked on the large hadron collider that.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, to be fair, it is just a joke.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

you can't say degrees in kelvin. It isn't in degrees. I got dinged on a test for that

by Anonymous 13 years ago

lol very clever!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

*Boom Boom Ching*

by Anonymous 13 years ago

nicely played!!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

This guy is pretty punny pretty punny indeed.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Sorry, it is actually -273.15 degrees celsius, you are short 0.15 degrees, We have in labs gotten millionths of a degree close to absolute zero where new states of matter have been discovered.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Stop being an ass and appreciate the joke for what it is. One comment saying something like "Btw scientists got to a new low of -273.15ºC recently" would be fine. Not fucking three.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not even possible in theory to get to absolute zero.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Fuck off, troll.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I may be annoying trying to sound smart, but I'm sure you don't understand what a troll is.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

When you ignored me saying to just take the joke and continued to talk about how it is scientifically impossible, you became a troll. A troll is someone who makes stupid comments to get attention or to piss people off. You're in that category.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

A troll is trying to get a reaction from you (ok, I did but I wasn't trying to). I wasn't being stupid I was informing you.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

This was on xkcd but oh well.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hehehe, nice XD
