+169 There should be an "If you really knew me" day at every school, amirite?

Well, we had a "Day of Understanding" at my school the past two years. It's a wonderful idea, and everyone leaves with tears in their eyes and feeling inspired to change the school, but unfortunately, it's completely forgotten about in the next few weeks. I wish more people would take it to heart, because there's some valuable stuff there.

My school was featured on that gay MTV show for having one of those days. It doesn't change a damn thing. People treat each other nicely for about 2 hours after it's over then things go back exactly the way they were, and you end up regretting telling people your secrets.

My dorm had a "crossing the line" experience... Most of the people thought it was a really stupid idea and a lot of the people ended up regretting crossing the line for things.

My school had Challenge Day (If You Really Knew Me) and it was amazing....for that day and about three days after. I just wish the results lasted longer.

My private life is private for a reason. I wouldn't trust anybody in my school with anything personal about myself, and I am a very trusting person.

What is this? It sounds like that school sleepover thing that was on pretty little liars, haha, but I haven't heard of it otherwise.

I feel like there would be those people who crave attention and would make up stories to get sympathy.

We did this at my school last year, but on a small scale. My class of peer leaders are trying to put together another and make it a tradition.

We had a Born This Way Day at my school, inspired by that one Glee episode. Students were supposed to make shirts with their biggest insecurities written on the front, ie Fat, Gay, etc etc. But only like 3 kids did it, so it looked stupid...
