+306 Sometimes one year can make a huge difference in a relationship, ex. 8th grader and a 9th grader, amirite?

In Canada, 8th and 9th aren't a huge difference, since 9th is still middle school. It doesn't really matter, just pointing that out...

I also live in Canada and 9-12 is high school. We also have K-8 and K-6 schools so no middle schools.

In America a lot of school districts do the same thing.

6th and 7th grade deff.

Not a big difference here since both are in highschool. 7th and 8th would be weird since 7th is in Primary school. But I get what you're getting at.

In the United States, 8th graders are in middle school and 9th graders are in high school.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know that.

Not here in Arkansas. 6th and 7th are middle school 8th and 9th are junior high and 10-12 are High.

At my old school, 7-12th grades all went to school together. I know a 10th grader who's dating an 8th grader and no one makes a big deal out of it.

That's not weird at all.

It's rarely weird to date someone a year older/younger than you. The only time I can see it ever making a somewhat significant difference is when a high school senior dates a college freshman, but even then it's not that much of a difference.

I was a junior and dated a freshman and it just didn't work because we were at different maturity levels I guess. I don't think it's weird to date out of your age range, it can just be more difficult sometimes!

That's what I'm doing now haha

I like how everyone feels entitled to say how their schools are grouped.
