+248 If the homosexuals are going to Hell, we might as well let them have equal rights, so they can live a good life on earth, amirite?

I agree that they should have equal rights, but does this logic seem off to anyone else? You could say "pedophiles are going to hell, we may as well let them run around and have all the kids they want so that they can have a good life on earth." (I'm not religious, as a disclaimer)

No, those two things are totally different. I had said this because my boyfriend said so-and-so was going to bell for being gay, and I was like well then that's just another reason to have equal right. Pedophiles are terrible people and they do some really bad things. Are you implying being gay is bad?

No.. I'm not. Look in my comment, I said that I support gay rights so obviously not. This is what I'm saying: You say "if the homosexuals are going to hell," so, since in this hypothetical situational they're going to hell that would imply that being gay is wrong (that's why they'd be going to hell). You could also say that if pedophiles are going to hell (implying that being a pedophile is wrong, which I agree with) then that can be used in the same logical process that you gave; let them have a good time on earth before going to hell. I don't support that of course, but that's the reasoning that you're using in this post. To make it more clear, they have done wrong things (hypothetically) --> they will go to hell --> may as well let them enjoy their life before going to hell

I understand what you mean... But that's not the message I was trying to get across. I can see why you thought that, though

I like this.

I don't want to go to Hell though :(

It's really not up to anyone to decide who's going to hell or hot. We don't make that decision. It never says in the Bible that homosexuals are going to hell, it does say it's a sin, but aren't we all sinners? But it does say that we shouldn't judge.

Revelation 21:8. Read the word before you speak

by Anonymous 13 years ago

According to what you sent me, both you and I will be going to hell cause you can't claim that you've never lied, and I've lied a lot in my life. But neither of us are done living yet, and if we felt bad about what we did, we still have a chance. And so does everyone else in the world. So you can't tell anyone "you're going to hell" cause it's not up to you to make that decision, and you don't know how they're gonna end up living the rest of their life. "Judge not that ye be not judged." Ever heard of that?

Homosexuals don't just automatically go to Hell for being homosexual. The chatechism teaches that they are loved by God and should be accepted, but sex should purely be for creating a child with your husband/wife. That's when things start to get complicated, becase although the homosexual couple might love each other and wantto have a child together, having sex wouldn't help the situation. It's misusage of God's gift

If your boyfriend says that homosexuals go to hell, ask him if he has ever sinned. Homosexuality is just one out of many sins - actually, anything that separates you from God is sin. Romans 3:23 says "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God". The whole point of Christianity is that we can't save ourselves because we're all sinners, but Jesus died for our sins so that we can be forgiven, and he was raised from the dead so that we can have eternal life. Homosexuals are no exception.
