most heavy metal "singers" probably don't even know what they are screaming about either, amirite?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Heavy metal is not all screaming. Ever heard of Black Sabbath or Megadeth?
by Anonymous13 years ago
i know, i am a huge metal fan myself and you do get good ones (i really like megadeth) But some of them are just ridiculous (Daath, as blood runs black, etc.)

I range from Led Zeppelin to Dimmu Borgir.

i listen to almost everything, because almost always the guitaring is amazing, and if they dont overdo the screaming its just that little bit better
by Anonymous13 years ago
Maybe you'd be able to understand it if you were a little less ignorant and took time to listen.
by Anonymous13 years ago
Yeah agreed.
by Anonymous13 years ago
love this comment. made me laugh. i so agree.

The instrument playing always seems to be phenomonal, but the vocals just don't do it for me. There are some I can tolerate though, but not most.

Not true. Screaming takes MUCH more talent than singing, and the lyrics to these songs are much deeper than "don't stop make it rock, dj blow my speakers up."

My brother is a heavy metal singer and he puts his whole heart into writing pure, good lyrics. If you're into then you will understand them.
by Anonymous13 years ago
my brother does too, he screams actually. And he works hard to write lyrics that people relate to and have meaning..people that think screamo doesn't have meaning or think it sucks don't take time at all to listen to it.

"singers" hahaaa

I like almost all kinds of music, and I have to say this post is so ignorant...
please compare the lyrics of katy perry's "california girls" to alexisonfire's "boiled frogs". I realize alexisonfire is screamo not heavy metal (and I like both genres), but just compare the lyrics. and this applies to many mainstream artists vs heavy metal or screamo or hardcore bands.
this does NOT apply to every band or musician, but the trend tends to be that mainstream artists sing about love/sex/drugs while other bands delve into much more profound topics regarding any number of current issues.
it's so ignorant to say that they don't know what they're screaming about just because that's their art form.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I see where you are coming from.
like i said before, i am a fan of metal myself. All i am trying to say is that you sometimes can't make out what they are saying...
by Anonymous13 years ago
Dear, screamo isn't a genre, it isn't even a word. Heavy metal, metalcore, hardcore. Are genres.
by Anonymous13 years ago
hun, screamo is a genre. Just because you're scared of it doesn't mean its not a genre.
by Anonymous13 years ago
wow dude, I just listened to that song. So deep.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I have to agree with you to an extent.
I'm not much of a fan of screamo, but I don't think it sucks.
I only like screamo a little.
I'm more of a Disturbed/A7X fan myself.
But it takes a lot of talent to scream.
And the lyrics are deep, and even if you think they aren't, at least they're better than any lyrics you'll find in rap.
Cause I think rap fucking sucks.
Now let the hate comments roll in.

agree. But eminem is cool
by Anonymous13 years ago
I agree. I love behemoth and the black dahlia murder. But without a lyrics website or a REALLY good ear, you're not getting any lyrics out of the songs.
