so much fun! <3 marching band

I hate when people say it's not hard but they've never tried it. Make them survive one day of band camp and they'll take it back.

Band camp is hardcore. I saw burly senior guys fall at the wrath of band camp. Marching is a skill, not everyone can do it. Most people can't even play an instrument, let alone march in tempo, correct foot forward while trying to remember a whole drill.

@845724 (BeatleBabe): i've been in marching band all four years of high school. I agree it's challenging but it's not near as hard as most sports. Seriously, i don't hate on band as i said before i'm in it but still...

Physically, maybe not, but mentally it's not for everyone. There are seniors I know who still can't march on time. Memorizing music and drills was never my forte (hah).

At my school, they make you run laps before you practice.

@846086 (Encore93): That's ridiculous. I would quit. My old band got third at state every year for the past 3 years and we have never done that crazy stuff.

They also make you go to school from 6:30 A.M to 5:30 P.M. D:

Hot damn.
by Anonymous13 years ago
I know! But it's only like 2 or 3 days a week.
by Anonymous13 years ago
My band got 2nd. HA!

What state?
by Anonymous13 years ago
Us too, and if we mess up, we have to do pushups.

I've since deemed that "praying to the pavement gods".

I tried it. It was boring. Hated it.

You get a little feeling of accomplishment when only the top half of your face is sunburnt from standing at attention during summer practices. Ah, memories.
