I had a male cat named Cookie. We thought he was a girl when we got him, and just didn't feel like changing his name.

I had a girl dog named Timmy but people used to call her Tammy because they didn't think she should have a boy's name. It was very annoying -_- Also I had a budgie that I thought was a boy and I named it Peter but then found out she was a girl but her name stayed the same.

Peter could be changed to Peta, that's a girl's name.

My mom has a turtle that she named Miles. We later realized that it is a girl turtle. We still call it Miles.

I had a squirrel that I thought was a boy, named him Carlos. Then figured out he was a girl and just called her Carlos anyway :P (I found it, like they find Carlos in the Hangover, hence the GENIUS name...)
