Teenagers always say, "Music if my life." Yeah, well, okay, you go ahead and listen to music your whole life, I'm going to go do something productive... amirite?

Well, I'm going to be making probably twice as much as you as a college level vocal music teacher. Music literally is my life. Everything musically I do now is to make my musical future possible.

If I said music is my life, I'd mean that I don't think I could live without it. By that I mean, I could survive without TV, computer/internet, phone, and pretty much everything I have just as long as I had music... It's a little hard to explain. But in my experience, music just fixes everything. (At least in my mind...)

Music is my life because it's around 1/2 of my social life.. Orchestras, my band, courses etc. You meet a load of awesome people playing music. Never too old to learn.

OP must be thinking of the ones that just say that because everyone else is. Some of us actually revolve our lives around music. We play music, listen to music, are in bands, and it basically is our life.

Music isn't productive? Wow. That sounds pretty uneducated. Ever heard of a musician?... Like someone who plays music for a living, I'm sure you make a lot of money my dear friend playing c.o.d. ... I know people who play music from when they wake up to when they go to sleep because they love it, it's also a bonus that musicians tend to get better grades. So GOOD DAY TO YOU SIR.

well.... I think when we say that, we mean it helps us through everything. and its inspiring. not just to musicians, but to dancers too. when I'm sad or angry or something, I listen to music. if we didn't have a way to escape from the world, then we would just explode. we wouldn't know of anyone else that feels the same way. sometimes, the only way to get away from the horrible things that we must face every single day is to just plug in your ipod and blast a good song. and we never said it made us special. if anything, it makes us feel wanted. knowing that there is a song out there that describes our life, written by someone who feels the same way, it makes us feel like we aren't alone. so maybe you should try to understand before you go and bash our generation.

Music is pretty legitimately my life. All of my friends but TWO are in band at my school, I play 3 instruments (learning a fourth), and plan on teaching music when I grow up. My friend's life revolves around his trumpet too. But I do get what you mean, all those stupid teenagers that couldn't even tell you how many flats an F major scale has.
