+119 How can God love us all when we burn in hell if we dont believe in him? amirite?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

if we drive through a red light because we don't believe in it...why should we get in a car crash and die?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

But we know red lights are there. We can observe red lights and say "yes, I know for a fact that is there. There is no doubt in my mind that a red light is there and the law says i have to stop for it." yet we cant say "oh there is god, I can see him right there. I must believe in him now." So yeah, if you do something bad, even though it is a fact you may get hurt, then you deserve it. If you don't believe in god because nobody can prove him to you, then you deserve no pain or harassment from believers

by Anonymous 14 years ago

thank you Coady

by Anonymous 14 years ago

i think the point the person was trying to make is that we want to blame God for doing something when we don't take ownership for our own actions... i.e. going through a red light... or seeking for yourself if there really is a devine Architect of this world and your life... if you say naaaa screw that and throw all that behind your back and say wtf at the end of it all when you do nothing but trample everything under your foot.... then you need to take ownership... just my opinion

by Anonymous 14 years ago

not really, the point they were making was you can not defy a red light without the possible consequence of wrecking. But this example sorta contradicts its author in that there is the POSSIBILITY that we will drive through unscathed, and if you apply that to not believing in god that translates to you may go to hell, but then again you may not. How can a christian believe that you may or may not go to hell if you do not believe? This is a very pointless debate that will go unsolved until you and I die so why don't we just shut the fuck up and go about our lives which means stay on your side and I will stay on mine.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I have always wondered this too well said. So much for all forgiving right?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

god is real. I took a shit on his porch one time.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

hahahaha nice

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Just because he loves you it doesn't mean he doesn't care if you keep being a douchebag sinner.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Because obviously the only way you can express disappointment with someone you love is to have them tortured for all eternity.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

How does being a sinner make you a douchebag?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Maybe you should believe in God and not have to worry about Hell. God loves you, just know that.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

God doesn't make people do anything. That's the point. We have free will. If you open your heart and try to find God then you will. If you let other people's opinions, stereotypes, and misconceptions get in the way, you won't find Him. God loves you but he gives you the choice to seek Him, to follow Him. When you find Him, it clicks. Christians don't sound insane afterall. I'll be the first to say Christians are hypocrites, we all are, aren't we? 'Cause none of us are perfect..but the faith isn't in the one trusting it's in the one trusted. God is real and what the majority of Christians have done to His image is such a sad thing. It blinds people from the beauty of Christ. But God died for you, so that you'd be set free from sin, so you could go to Heaven. He didn't create sin, we were the cause when we chose to first disobey Him. But when and if you find God, you'll know that what other people have said doesn't matter..your relationship with your creator can give you life, forever.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

saying we caused sin by disobedience makes it sound like everyone had a part not just the person who actually disobeyed the first time which would mean we're all born with sin. and i agree with you what Christians have done with the name of God, especially the born again christians who love sitting outside schools telling children they're all going to hell.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Read the Bible, and maybe you'd get some info on that subject.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Everyone sins so I'm guessing we all go to hell ^^ heaven must be one empty place...

by Anonymous 14 years ago

SHUT UP

by Anonymous 14 years ago

*giggle*

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I always just saw it as: If you live a good life, you go to heaven. If you live a bad life, you go to hell. Everyone does some bad shit in their life, but if they didn't mean it and they're sorry... *shrugs* If you go around stealing shit, hurting/killing people, ect. yeah. Your fault. You're goin' to hell! God didn't make you do that crap.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

It's hard to believe in God when there is no actual proof of his existence. And if I am a good person, and generally don't commit sins, just because it's the right thing to do, not because that's what God wants me to do, but I still don't believe in him, then I'm going to hell for being a good person.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

cheesus died so no one went to hell. duh

by Anonymous 14 years ago

he sent his only son to die the most brutal painful humiliating death so that we could be save for our own sins. how is that not all loving and forgiving?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

ask a born again Christian, they take one look at anyone and instantly assume said person is like the anti Christ. they come to our school at lunch and start calling kids gay and saying they do all kinds of drugs and yell at us how we're going to hell. they ruin God's loving image.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Like someone said above, God doesn't MAKE us do anything. We have free will and therefore make a choice of choosing God which = Heaven or life without God which = Hell. The reason for that is God cannot be around sin. He is perfect and the two don’t mix well. Also you don’t get into heaven just by being a good person and you don’t go to hell just for being a bad one. Like I said, how you get in or stay out of heaven is determined by weather you have Jesus in your heart. To the person above; you wouldn't be going to hell for being a good person. Without God in our heart we can’t be washed clean of our sins and therefore cannot be in his presence. And you say you have no proof that God exists. Well how to you know gravity exists?! You can’t see it, and you don't really feel it, you just know its keeping you on the ground. That’s kinda how God is. You can't see Him or feel Him most of the time but we can know He's there.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

why should there be that loop hole though? we can be free willed, and live our lives, but we are chained to believe or we are damned. if God loved all creation shouldn't he be able to show even the same amount of compassion a birth parent can and respect who their children are and what they believe. we are made in God's image, so of anyone in existence He of all people should understand why we wouldn't believe in him. for all we know He created scientific evidence of creation just for the people he knew wouldn't believe in him.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I'm a little confused on some of what you said so i'm going to try to respond as best i can. What loop hole? God does show compassion to everyone, that's why he give us the option to believe in Him and go to heaven. But that is your choice, just because you don't chose to believe and therefore not go to heaven doesn't mean that God doesn't love you or isn't showing compassion on you. He shows compassion is giving us the option to go to heaven, he showed us compassion by sending his son to die on the cross for us so we can be washed clean of our sins so we can go to heaven and be with him. Also I'd like to say that God never said being a christian would be easy. Be different from a lot of people is never easy.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Because you chose not to love Him.....

by Anonymous 14 years ago

I completely agree with you. If God created everyone, he created sociopaths and others like them. Now if this sociopath turns to a life of crime, and kills and steals because God has not given them the mental capabilities of empathy and such that usually discourage people, then what right does God have to say that they are sinners and should go to hell? Everyone is doing the best they can with what they have, so i don't think it is possible for anyone to go to hell.

by Anonymous 14 years ago

Yes God created them. But he also created man to be perfect, we weren't meant to be sociopaths and kills or steal things but because sin entered the world and so some people do those things. And just because they are sociopath's doesn't mean they don't have the mental capabilities to know right from wrong or turn to God. And God has the right to say that because he created us. And i would have to disagree with everyone doing the best they can with what they have. Many people, myself included, don't always do the best we can with what we have.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

can anyone tell me why God hasa tendency to kill people? Like the flood and his son. Yes, I think God indeed has created us like Himself: miserable and full of desires to humiliate and torture: it's just the same as what he did. So he should go to Hell to. Hmm.. no he should not. because he probably believes in himself and naturally has some regrets of all he's done. Quite contradicting and cheating. Isn't cheating a form of committing sin?

by Anonymous 14 years ago

God sent the flood because the world had become SO corrupt with sin that no one (except Noah) could come to him and therefore couldn't go to heaven. And he sent his son to die for US so that we could be washed clean of our sins and go to heaven. So your argument my friend does not have much basis.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

woah woah woah everyone listen. everyone says god hates gays, but yet im supposed to believe that he loves us all. and no you go to "heaven" if you accept "god" into your heart so basically you could commit the worst sins in your lifetime but as long as you accept "god" into your heart you are saved, but an atheist could bethe best person but he/she would go to hell because the didnt have "god" in their hearts. also on the gay subject... if your gay the "god" automatically says your going to hell. i stopped going to chuch with the rest of my family since i came out because the priest and my mother both said i couldnt go because i was infecting the church and i would burn in hell... yeah some god...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Conclusion: God creatus us like himself: and thus we are imperfect.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

God created us in His own image. We were originally created without sin, and therefore created in His image.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

i thought god was supposed to be perfect? check mate

by Anonymous 13 years ago

He is. May i ask where your going with this?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

That is the contradiction here: humans SAY he is perfect. But how can he be perfect, when he shapes humans like himself, and humans are imperfect? If we really are like him, we should be just as perfect as him. But sadly enough, ''perfect'' is just as unrealistic as ''endless''.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Like i said above "God created us in His own image. We were originally created without sin, and therefore created in His image."

by Anonymous 13 years ago

alright i am an obnoxious atheist and let me tell you in that book of lies you guys call the bible it cleary says that god is the only thing in the universe that is or can be perfect... maybe you should read it before you open your mouth

by Anonymous 13 years ago

If know know so much about all this religion-god-stuff, could you explain me why I am finding all this contradicting?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

what do you mean?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Well, it is obvious that you know more about the christian religion than I do, and therefore I was wondering whether you could explain why I am wrong. Because I am aware of certain facts of this religion: ''God is perfect'' and ''God created humans like himself''. Therefore humans should be just a perfect as their creator. But at the same time, God says humans are full of sinns, so they are not quite perfect. And (please correct me if I'm wrong) God decided to spread a flood to kill all the sinners, but killing is a sin! Immanuel Kant would not have approved that, since his Deontological ethics said that the only good thing comes out of the good will. And you don't even do the bad thing (to kill, to lie) even if the consequenses (no sinners after the flood) are good. The sin stays a sin. So God was committing a huge sin, when he wanted to delete the sinners from the planet. Can you understand my confusion? can you explain this to me?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

How could you continue to love and not eventually get rid of the girl you really like if she keeps cheating on you and even says that she'll continue to do it no matter what you do? God loves you and has already done all he could (God Himself died on the cross for you!). Therefore, stop cheating on him because now it's up to you. And that means start believing!

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I think there's a devil and a god. But that's my opinion. I don't really believe that he has a lot of control down there. Honestly, what happens happens. But in my guess, I don't think anyone should be punished for their beliefs. You don't choose what you believe; it's not an option. You can try and try to believe, but it doesn't mean you can force yourself to. I can force myself to believe in Santa, but doesn't mean I will. And I don't think God wants us to live in denial if we're an atheist. Because we don't choose what we believe. Mocking Him, though, is a different story. But we believe what we do. It's good to believe, but don't beat yourself if you can't or don't. But hey, that;s just my opinion. And yes, I am a Christian.
