+251 I think I just realized why McDonald's fry containers are shaped the way they are: the bottom is curved in so that they can give you less fries, amirite?

I forget what fast food place it was, but i remember reading that the small and medium fries where the same amount. The way they use that scopper thing, it picks up the same amount of fries no matter how tall the box is.

I think it's more of a design thing. The curved bottom helps to holding the sleeve open. If it was flat it would need to be alot more complicated to stay open well and it would need alot more work to open so fries can be put in.
