I've only tried watching it twice (I'm european) but as far as I remember the game keeps stopping pretty much every five seconds and it gets really annoying.

well it kinda ruins the point if they DON'T stop. they only stop for 30 seconds though, so it's only a problem if you have an extremely short attention span...

Still, it inevitably makes it less entertaining. But I'll admit I don't even really know the rules... but it just looks boring, and I don't care what I'm watching, if it's something that stops every five seconds I'm probably not gonna like it.

It's just the way it's televised that makes it boring. If they didn't stop every few seconds and commentate, it would be awesome.

I think if you know the rules, and you really like like/dislike the team playing, it can be really exciting to watch.

I feel like us americans love football (american football) so much because going through high school it's all about the football team, not soccer or baseball or anything else.

I went to a football game at my school, 90% of the kids don't watch the game. Honestly I hate the sport and think it's annoying as hell and that who ever created the shape of the ball was on something because seriously that is not ball (not like that) shaped.
