-100 America is like the hipster of the earth, i mean we're the only country that uses a 12 hour clock, fahrenheit, we're the only country that has daylight savings time and we're also the only country that doenst use the metric system. amirite?

by Anonymous 11 years ago

The other countries are just jealous.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

cause we're not mainstream (:

by Anonymous 13 years ago

wrong on ALL counts. incredible.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Stupid American. Liberia and Burma both don't use the Metric System. Boom. Ignore the "Stupid American" thing. I'm American too.

Australia and New Zealand have day light savings...

by Anonymous 13 years ago

I'm Canadian an we have day light savings.. I am pretty sure every country does.

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Here's a funny set of time facts. China doesn't use daylight savings, but what's even FUNNIER, is that China is all ONE time zone. Despite being the size of the USA, China is ONE MASSIVE time zone. It's friggin' ridiculous. It's ok if you live in the east of the country like I do, but if you're out west, it's insane, haha.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

you're also very stupid

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Hi, I live in England, we use both a twelve hour clock and daylight savings.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

and we use imperial measures in daily life, and quite a lot of people still use and/or understand farenheit, particularly people over 45 y/o

by Anonymous 11 years ago

"Only country that uses Fahrenheit, only country that doesn't use the metric system." lolwut

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Everything in this post is absolutely false. Sorry.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

At least you tried...

by Anonymous 11 years ago

This is such a typical 'merican post

by Anonymous 11 years ago

we're not all like this

by Anonymous 11 years ago

that's why they said 'merican, not American

by Anonymous 11 years ago

ballet_apocalypse is right. I know that not ALL Americans share the poster's ignorance.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Ignoring the fact that everything in the post you said is false, the fact that the US doesn't do any of those stuff doesn't mean it's hipster it means it's a slow poke.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

To be completely fair, Fahrenheit is more accurate. It's not as intuitive as Celsius, but there's a smaller interval between degrees in F.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

True, true... And daylight savings helps as well so not everything listed is bad.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

And it would cost a good bit of money to transfer to the metric system

by Anonymous 11 years ago

True, but it is an easier system to work with in the long run

by Anonymous 11 years ago

Oh that's definitely true. But short term it would be very difficult

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I feel like Celcius is better for science and Fahrenheit is better for daily life.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

It's what you grow up with. Admittedly you only really use Celsius from around -10 to 40, but if someone says it'll be 35 degrees tomorrow I think 'nice summer's day' but if they said 90 degrees I would think the apocalypse was upon us rater than thinking 'I should wear shorts'.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm fairly certain we're not the only one for //any// of that. Also, that doesn't make you a hipster, even if we were.

by Anonymous 11 years ago

At least OP learned something new today

by Anonymous 11 years ago

I'm wondering if this only got homepaged so that the op could be disproved because no one else felt like trying to explain it to someone so dim
