+448 Its amazing how much medicine and technology we have and we still can't find the cure to the common cold, amirite?

That would be because the "common cold" isn't that common, there are tons of strains of it

by Anonymous 13 years ago

yeah just like the flu, which is why you have to get a different flu shot every year

It's amazing how people like OP haven't yet learned that we CAN'T, because there are so many types... They've been drilling that into our heads for years.

Haha I was gonna say the same.

haha yeaa, the disease thingie like mutates into different things every time so our body can't recognize it..

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Not only are there 39593020 different strains of it [which is why we keep getting it. If it was the same illness, our body would recognize it faster], but it's a virus. It's harder to kill viruses because antibiotics don't work [It kills bacteria]

i believe you just got pwned.. didn't you learn anything at all in science class?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

too late. they already did. in an episode of kim possible. its too bad that the machine was destroyed by accident because everybody in the episode caught the cold...

It's called evolution. When we pump our bodies full of an antibiotic to fight a virus for so long, the virus evolves to be resistant to the antiobiotic. It'll never stop.

Antibiotics fight bacteria, not viruses. And it's not because the cold virus is resistant to anything, it's because there are hundreds of separate viruses that cause rhinitis.
