The phrase is supposed to imply that a girl is a lock and a guy is a key. Still stupid though, the whole reason that phrase even exists is to explain something that isn't true.

Yeah you can't make an analogy with two of the same things. They have to be different but similar. Ex: apples and oranges, different but both fruit. Locks and sex, in and out motion and the shitty lock and trashy girl and good key and awesome dude, if you believe in that (I don't)
