+243 When you walk on the beach and enjoy the sunset, you do not call out "A little more orange to the right, please" or "Would you mind having a bit less purple in the back?" No, we enjoy different sunsets just the way they are. We're looking for the person who sees a sunset in us, amirite?

This is kind of meaningless considering sunsets will always stay the same, but people change. I cannot accept anyone for who they are completely because then they would be perfect, and what fun is perfection? You want someone to find you perfect? Good luck with that, you'll be single for a while. Relationships aren't all about accepting those for who they are without wanting to change them (by the way, changing small bits and pieces for your girlfriend/boyfriend isn't bad so long as it's beneficial to you as well), it's also about being compatible with the changes that they might go through. A person you meet now will have a completely different outlook on life and personality in a decade, and being able to change with them and still be compatible than you were the first day you started dating, or more, is what I consider love.

I agree that comparing people with sunsets is an inapt analogy as people are constantly changing. However I view this post more as wanting someone accept or love you as a whole, not just certain specifics about you. It's not about loving a person because they are perfect, but thinking they are perfect in spite of their flaws and imperfections BECAUSE you love them.

But that's the thing. Perfection. We're so set on perfection. I believe that perfection should be striven for but should never be obtained, because as I said, perfection is boring. And to find someone perfect is ultimately impossible, which includes finding the perfect pros and the perfect cons. You don't find people perfect, you never should and you never will.
