+100 Why do they say that you're killing trees by using so much paper? the tree has already been killed, amirite?

by Anonymous 12 years ago

I know you're just trying to be clever but I feel like I have to say this, they say it because you could save that paper and not waste it, the more paper you use, the more they have to make.

Supply and demand.

*sigh* no

When you use paper, they need to make more. Making more=cutting down trees. Smh.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

So if I use 3 sheets of paper instead of 5, they won't cut down as many trees? Ok.

by Anonymous 12 years ago

Let's say one thousand individuals use 3 sheets of paper each, instead of 5. In total, they're using 3000, instead of 5000. Collectively, they're saying up 2000 sheets of paper, that's, in average, 4 packages of printer paper.

That's true, but it still won't affect how many trees are cut down for making paper. It doesn't matter how much paper is left unused, trees are still being cut down at the same rate. It would take many years and a very drastic decrease in paper use for companies to actually slow the production.

Like someone said up there, supply and demand. If there's paper left, companies won't cut down as many trees because they don't have the demand for it. If they do keep on cutting down as many trees, they're losing money.

But even if you save your paper, there will still be people wasting it and paper companies will still be making more
