+173 When if a bus is full, it seems a new rider can fit on without anyone exiting said bus. By this logic, the capacity of a bus is infinite, amirite?

I've been on the bus where the driver passed stops with people at them because there was no space and no one on the bus had rung for a stop. If a new rider can fit on, it really isn't "full," and by that logic, people know how to squeeze together in tight spaces. Same goes with trains, and I've seen trains so packed that not a single soul could get on them.

I've had this same thought, but with elevators.

No, there have been times I couldn't get on elevators because they were too packed.
