+726 When you feel the need to vent, and you're talking to a friend, they tend to feel the need to compete with your problems, amirite?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

It's not competing.... My friends do that sometimes and the message I get is that everyone has tough times, they know how I feel, and they're telling me that things will get better. There is no point in moaning and groaning the whole day about something. They listen to your problem, they tell you one they've faced and you say, "Oh okay then, now I realize I'm being a bitch about the little things" and you MOVE ON

Get better listeners as friends.

I have a friend who does this. She half listens to my story and immediately jumps into "yeah well blah blah blah". Very annoying.

What kind of "friends" do you have?

by Anonymous 13 years ago

Only bad friends do that.

I FUCKING hate when people do that. I understand that you have problems, and do not care what-so-ever that you want to talk about it because I will help, but for ONCE can I just spill out my guts. This especially gets me angry because I am usually the listener and barely complain/talk about my problems to my friends.
